In the metals industry, brown-field projects (the replacement of existing production systems) are often one the most complex projects, as ongoing production processes must be continuously supported during the software upgrade. Therefore, the fact that we are able to support a global plant supplier by applying our expertise to two projects with major steel producers confirms our approach. Together with the end customers, one operating an oxygen steel plant and the other operating an electric arc furnace, we assessed the current status and developed solutions to transition smoothly to a new process control software system.
